South Australia introduced significant changes to the way that Planning and Development Applications needed to be assessed.
The City of Unley took a positive, energetic approach to these changes and wanted to maximise the benefits of the opportunities presented – Bee Squared helped the team to completely re-think their approach to their internal processes through a structured and data-driven process redesign project.
Key benefits achieved include:
- 75% reduction in planning decision times (from average of 40 days to 10 days!),
- one of the first councils to successfully achieve the intent of the new SA PDI Act in full,
- compliments from customers and development proponents,
- an engaged and energetic team, and
- a cost saving of $200K p.a.
As a result of the Community benefits delivered, the team was winner of the Excellence in Customer Service Award at the LG Professionals SA 22nd Annual Leadership Excellence Awards. The team was also recognised with an award from the Planning Institute of Australia‘s SA branch. Congratulations Team!
